Imagine the architecture required for today to happen for you.......

A soft glow of ethereal light emanating from a central point, symbolizing spiritual awakening.

The Invisible String

Did you see my ugly crying video yesterday on socials?

Well btw they were pure tears of gratitude, mind blowing infinite love and appreciation… I wasn’t sad I was happy … but thank you to everyone who reached out to see if I was okay xx Yesterday was one of those atomic life shifting moments

But here’s the longer understanding to what happened yesterday if you are up for a good read..

The architecture of connection we cannot see

Something happened to me yesterday that shifted my understanding of human connection in a way I am still trying to find language for.

I have spoken for years about interconnectedness, consciousness, energy and the idea that beneath the individual identities we inhabit, there is something much greater connecting us. We experience ourselves through the very real human experience of separation: I am in this body, living this life, carrying these memories, experiences, wounds, beliefs and perspectives and you are in yours. We each experience consciousness through the identity of being someone.

But I have always felt that beneath that individuality exists a deeper field of consciousness from which none of us are actually separate.

I do not believe we are not billions of completely separate consciousnesses trying to find connection with one another. My belief is that we are consciousness experiencing itself through billions of different expressions, each given the extraordinary opportunity to experience life from a unique point of awareness.

If that is even remotely true, then our lives cannot exist in isolation.

There must be threads between us.

Threads we cannot see while they are forming. Threads that move through relationships, conversations, decisions, places and experiences. Threads that sometimes disappear from our awareness entirely, only to reveal themselves years later when enough of the picture has unfolded for us to finally recognise what we were looking at.

Yesterday, I saw one of mine.

And it fucking floored me.

A thread that began ten years ago

Ten years ago, I was running my charity, Wings of Destiny. Part of that work involved taking my Destined to Be Me program into high schools around Brisbane, where I spoke with young women about domestic violence, abusive relationships, self-worth, identity and the patterns that can slowly lead someone away from themselves.

I shared my own story because I had made a decision that what I had survived was going to become something more than something that had happened to me. If there was a possibility that my experience could help another young woman recognise something earlier, make a different choice, trust herself more deeply or understand what healthy love should actually feel like, then I wanted to use it.

There was one particular school visit that I have always remembered. I can still remember the room and the energy of that day. Nothing externally extraordinary happened that would have told me, “Kate, remember this moment. Something important has just occurred.”

I simply spoke, shared what I knew, connected with those girls and eventually went home.

Life moved on.

I had no way of knowing what happened to every young woman sitting in that room. I didn’t know which words landed, which were forgotten or whether something I said quietly travelled home with someone that afternoon and became part of the way she understood herself.

That is the strange thing about impact. Most of the time, we don’t get to witness it.

Then today, ten years later, something came back.

The woman I somehow recognised. There is a woman who has been in the periphery of my social media world for quite some time. She follows me. Somewhere along the way, I followed her. I knew she was connected in some way to people who had previously been part of my life but she and I had never developed any meaningful relationship.

Yet there had always been a strange sense of familiarity around her that I couldn’t place.

My life had moved through several other chapters by then. I had undertaken deep ceremonial training with someone who was once significant in my journey. Through that world I became connected to another woman, which eventually contributed to me going to a retreat in Bali last year.

Bali became one of the most profound periods of transformation and alchemisation of my life. Something opened there that changed the trajectory of my inner world.

What is interesting to me now is that some of the people who formed those bridges are no longer significant relationships in my life. Those connections had their season. Their place in my story changed and life continued.

Yet somehow, through this almost impossible network of people, experiences and seemingly unrelated chapters, this particular woman remained somewhere within my awareness.

Yesterday she asked me a simple question:

“Did you used to teach in schools?” And something inside me immediately knew.

I knew who she was. I knew where I had seen her. And suddenly I understood the familiarity I had never been able to explain. She was one of the young women sitting in that room ten years ago.

Then she told me something I wasn’t prepared for.

She told me that hearing me share my story that day had been a turning point for her. It made her decide that she wanted to change her life, that she wanted to impact the world, that she wanted to write a book and that she wanted her life to mean something.

I fucking broke.

I sat there ugly crying, completely overwhelmed by a feeling that was bigger than pride or validation. It was this enormous, almost indescribable experience of gratitude and love because suddenly I could see a tiny section of something that had been invisible to me for ten years.

And I realised how much of life must be happening exactly like this.

We rarely get to see where our energy goes. We naturally measure the significance of our lives through visible evidence. We look at who stayed, who left, what succeeded, what failed, who acknowledged us, who misunderstood us, who thanked us and who judged us. We look at numbers, outcomes, relationships and tangible results because the human mind needs something concrete to point towards and say, There. That mattered.

But life doesn’t necessarily work according to what we are capable of seeing.

A conversation may change somebody without us ever knowing it. A boundary we choose may quietly give somebody else permission to establish their own. A story we share may interrupt a pattern in someone else’s life. An act of kindness may arrive at the exact moment another person was losing faith in humanity. Something we create may plant a seed that doesn’t germinate for five years, ten years, perhaps longer.

We may have profoundly affected people whose names we no longer remember.

And people we barely knew may have altered the trajectory of our lives simply because they placed us one step closer to the next person, the next experience or the next version of ourselves.

We cannot calculate this because consciousness does not move through life like a spreadsheet. Human beings affect one another in ways that are subtle, nonlinear and often completely invisible.

Yesterday I was given the extraordinary privilege of seeing one ripple return. And something inside me changed because of it. What happened next was perhaps the most profound part of the experience. Her words didn’t simply make me emotional. They touched something in me that I didn’t realise still needed to be touched. I thought about every period of my life when I had questioned whether I was making a difference.

Every moment of self-doubt. Every judgment that had been projected onto me. Every relationship that ended and caused me to examine myself. Every moment I wondered whether I was good enough, whether I was getting it right, whether my work mattered or whether I had somehow failed.

For a moment, all of that became incredibly small.

Not because another person had finally validated me. That would make this story far less significant than it actually was. It was because I had been shown evidence of something I had participated in without ever knowing there had been an outcome.

Ten years ago, I walked into a school with no guarantee that my story would change anything. I shared it anyway. Somewhere in that room, a young woman made a decision about her own life. I left without knowing that decision had ever been made.

Ten years later, she returned that energy to me at a moment in my own evolution when perhaps I needed to remember that one decision can travel much further than we ever get to witness. The ripple had somehow circled back.

The person I unknowingly impacted all those years ago had now impacted me. That reciprocity is what broke me open.

Perhaps we misunderstand the purpose of relationships. This experience also made me think differently about the people who move through our lives.

We place enormous meaning on permanence. When a connection feels profound, we assume its significance should be measured by how long it lasts. When a friendship ends, a partnership dissolves or two people’s lives simply move in different directions, we can interpret the ending as evidence that something went wrong.

But perhaps permanence and significance have never been the same thing.

Some people may be companions for decades. Others may occupy one incredibly important season. Some might challenge us, awaken us, mirror something we cannot yet see or introduce us to someone who becomes important later.

Someone might invite us somewhere that changes our life. Another person might rupture our understanding of ourselves so completely that we are forced to become someone new. And sometimes a person’s entire role in our unfolding may be something neither of us ever consciously recognises.

That doesn’t make the connection insignificant. It might make it actually incredibly precise.

Looking back at the sequence that eventually led to yesterday’s realisation, I can see people who were once central to my world who are no longer part of it. I don’t need those relationships to exist today in order to honour what moved through them then.

Someone can be a bridge without being the destination.

Someone can participate in your becoming without being required to accompany the person you become.

There is something deeply sovereign about understanding this. Interconnection does not mean permanent access. Oneness does not eliminate boundaries. Recognising the sacredness of a connection does not require us to keep resurrecting relationships whose season has completed.

We can simply recognise that something moved through that intersection of two lives and trust that it had a place within a much larger architecture. The architecture is almost impossible to comprehend.

When I trace yesterday’s moment backwards, the complexity of it becomes extraordinary. A version of me had to survive what she survived and eventually decide to transform that experience into service. Wings of Destiny had to be created. A school had to invite me. I had to walk into that particular classroom on that particular day and this young woman had to be sitting there.

Something in my story then had to intersect with something already alive within her.

Ten years of life had to happen after that. People met people. Relationships formed and dissolved. Careers changed. Healing happened. New identities emerged. Social media eventually placed two people who had once occupied the same room back into each other’s peripheral awareness without either of us initially understanding why the other felt familiar.

Then, yesterday, one question collapsed ten years:

“Did you used to teach in schools?”

Suddenly the thread became visible.

I am not interested in using this experience as scientific proof of some cosmic mechanism. I don’t need to turn something sacred into something it isn’t. What I know is what I experienced. For a brief moment, I could perceive the interconnectedness of my own life differently. I could see how limited our human perspective is when we try to judge the meaning of something while we are still standing inside the middle of it.

We see the encounter. We don’t see the architecture.

The human mind sees fragments

This is where I think our humanity can make things incredibly unnecessarily difficult.

We judge a moment before we know where it leads. We judge a relationship by how it ends. We judge ourselves according to somebody else’s perception. We compare timelines, question our worth, become consumed by rejection, jealousy, fear, success, failure and whether someone understood us correctly.

We see fragments and make them the whole story. Yet beneath all of that, lives continue intersecting.

One person’s decision influences another person’s decision. An introduction creates another introduction. Something that looks like an ending becomes the route into another beginning. A painful experience develops a depth of understanding that eventually becomes medicine for somebody we haven’t even met yet.

We cannot see the entire tapestry from the perspective of one thread. And perhaps we aren’t supposed to. Maybe that’s part of the sacredness of it.

Maybe part of being human is living without access to the full architecture while still choosing to participate consciously in it.

That changes the question from “What am I getting from this?” to something much larger: “What am I placing into the field of human experience through the way I choose to live?” Because we are always leaving something behind in one another.

Maybe changing the world has always happened this way. We speak about changing the world as though it requires enormous platforms, extraordinary achievements or millions of people knowing our names.

But there are eight billion individual worlds walking around on this planet. Changing one of them matters. If something you say changes the way one person sees herself, she will enter every relationship after that slightly differently. She may parent differently, love differently, choose differently, lead differently or speak differently to another person who then makes a different choice.

That is how ripples become fields.

I shared my story with a room of young women ten years ago because I wanted something painful from my own life to become useful. One young woman made a decision because of it. I didn’t know. Life continued.

Ten years later she told me, and her decision became medicine for me. That is what I cannot stop thinking about. The ripple didn’t simply travel outward. It returned.

Perhaps influence is far less linear than we imagine. Perhaps we are continually exchanging pieces of ourselves through conversations, relationships, choices and moments of courage, and we have absolutely no capacity to understand how far those exchanges travel.

The sacredness of the invisible thread

I think this experience has made me want to hold human connection more carefully.

Not more tightly. More fucking carefully. And with more sovereignty. There is a difference. I don’t need to hold onto every person. I don’t need to understand why every relationship happened. I don’t need every ending to be reconciled into a neat explanation or every connection to become something permanent.

But I do want to respect the extraordinary possibility that there is more happening between us than what is immediately visible.

I want to honour the bridges.

I want to honour the people who moved me one step closer to something they never knew they were leading me towards.

I want to honour the people who challenged me enough that I had to meet another part of myself.

I want to honour the completed chapters without needing to reopen them.

And I want to remain conscious of what I am placing into the lives I touch now, because yesterday reminded me that I may never know where it goes.

There is something incredibly delicate about that.

Every day we walk through other people’s worlds carrying the potential to leave fingerprints we will never see. Sometimes those fingerprints become wounds. Sometimes they become memories. Sometimes they become permission, courage, possibility or love. And occasionally, perhaps if we are very fucking lucky, life pulls back the curtain for a moment and allows us to see one.

Yesterday, I got to see one of mine.

A young woman I spoke to ten years ago had carried something from that day into her life. Through an almost incomprehensible sequence of people, places, relationships, endings and beginnings, our paths crossed again.

And in telling me what I had once given her without knowing it, she gave something back to me that she could never have known I needed.

That is the invisible thread. Not something I need to fully explain. Something I want to become more conscious of. Because perhaps the sacredness isn’t in knowing exactly where every thread leads. Perhaps it is in understanding that our inability to see the whole tapestry does not mean it isn’t being woven.

Everything you do, Everything you choose, Everything no matter how small or big - matters

So if you are questioning whether your life matters, whether the love you have given mattered, whether the work you have done mattered, whether the choices you made mattered or whether you have touched anybody deeply enough to leave something meaningful behind, remember this:

You are seeing your life from inside one tiny point in an architecture far greater than your current perspective can comprehend.

There are conversations you have forgotten that somebody else remembers.

There are moments when your courage became somebody else’s permission.

There are people who met you briefly but carried something of that encounter forward.

There are completed relationships whose influence is still moving through your life in ways you cannot yet recognise.

There are seeds you planted that you will never watch grow.

And there are ripples carrying pieces of your existence into places you may never personally reach.

This is unfolding for you too, right now, without you even realising it. There are invisible threads moving through your life, through people you know and people you may never meet again, through endings you thought meant nothing more and moments you have already forgotten. You may not understand what they are connecting for years to come - and you may never see some of them at all - but your inability to see the ripple does not mean you did not create one.
